Monk seeking H/H party build for Forgewight
So its going on 3 weeks now that I've been trying Forgewight dungeon with only a modecum of success every 40 percentage points of DP er so.
I'd like to hear what H/H team builds other monks have useD to successfully complete this dungeon down to the skill bar templates for yourself and your heroes, which henchmen and why and any particular gotchas you ran into in Forgewight (I've yet to retrieve the gate key).
I'll tell you what builds I've tried and what the team composition is that I'm currently trying.
Let the recommendations fly!
EDIT: I should also mention I've got all the expansions and Unlock packs so the only limitations on my hero skillbars are the title based skills.

For me, It wasn't about the monk bar that I used. It was about the Trapper bar of the Ranger that came with...
[skill]Echo[/skill][skill]Arcane Echo[/skill][skill]Dust Trap[/skill][skill]barbed trap[/skill][skill]whirling defense[/skill][skill]lightning reflexes[/skill][skill]serpent's quickness[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
I have also seen groups do well with a bonder monk since there is no enchantment stripping.
[skill]dwayna's kiss[/skill][skill]seed of life[/skill][skill]protective spirit[/skill][skill]balthazar's spirit[/skill][skill]blessed signet[/skill][skill]life bond[/skill][skill]mantra of inscriptions[/skill][skill]rebirth[/skill]

All title based skills are PvE only skills and can't be used by heroes.

Yeah that was my point. Thanks for clarifying.

So heres a rundown of all the team builds I've tried.
First I tried the team I had put together to run the other dungeons in slavers.
Me - My GWEN Smiter Monk (I ran the whole EotN plot with this and an H/H team)
[skill]Ray of Judgment[/skill][skill]Banish[/skill][skill]Spear of Light[/skill][skill]Castigation Signet[/skill][skill]Smite Hex[/skill][skill]Smite Condition[/skill][skill]Reversal of Damage[/skill][skill]Sunspear Rebirth Signet[/skill]
Template Code: OwUTMGHD5xnxPUjWfXC1HvixBA
With 2 Air Spike Heroes Zhed and Vekk both using
OgVDMDyMTGDLgRiAalDhNxNhDA with small variants
and General Morgahn as party support
Invariably in all these team builds I used 3 of the same henchmen each time
Eve, Mhenlo, and Lina
for the 8th slot I did seperate runs with Cynn, Herta, Zho, and Lo Sha.
In spite of this being a very spike centric team build we still couldnt deal damage quick enough to withstand the amount we were taking.
So I switched my slot to Protection from Smite with Aegis, SoR, Prot Spirit, Spirit Bond, Shield Guardian, Extinguish, BotGD, and Rebirth and tried variants on the elite skill including Shield of Deflection and Life Sheath. This setup with Life Sheath has proven to be the most equitable thus far and thats what I'm still running now.
I also tried this same team with 2 SF Flame elementalists and a paragon and brought winter, all to little avail.
Then I changed tactics and went with 2 Splinter Barrage heroes and 1 interrupt hero (after all Rangers have extra elemental resistance right?) That was a total bomb because Lina, Mhenlo and I would burn out our healing much faster than the barrage teams could down our heavy damage dealing foes.
I also tried 2 interrupt heroes and one air spiker (still not enough damage)
Then I switched gears to an A/R critical Barrager which lead me to the design of my own A/D scythe critter
[skill]Critical Defenses[/skill][skill]Way of the Assassin[/skill][skill]Way of the Master[/skill][skill]Critical Eye[/skill][skill]Radiant Scythe[/skill][skill]Chilling Victory[/skill][skill]Eremite's Attack[/skill][skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill]
Template Code: OwpiMypMNAFntIq/w9Ng1cBdBA
After trying 3 Ranger heroes and a few variants as mentioned above I went to the A/R Critical Barrager mentioned and a support Ritualist and then on to my current team incarnation
Me - (Prot Monk) OwIT8YIjHKgYMqeQLqu51pVUmAA
Anton - (Scythe Critter) OwpiMypMNAFntIq/w9Ng1cBdBA
Zenmai - (Scythe Critter) OwpiMypMNAFntIq/w9Ng1cBdBA
Razah - (Channeler) OACjEyiM5MYsNW58ypMncxzjLA
Eve - (Battery)
Mhenlo - (Healer)
Lina - (Prot)
Herta - (Wards)
I've made it to the 2nd Beacon down the cave hall towards the dungeon key with this team, but no further.
I've read the other threads on Forgewight and it seems Ritualists are key, but I just cant see to get it right.
I like the trappers suggestion above, but please keep em coming while I toy with it.

Brian - Did you find the hero AI adequate to use this build? Did it require alot of flagging and manual skill activations to set up the traps? Am I essentially playing my own character and however many trapper heroes I bring at the same time? Its been my brief experience that the AI doesn't run a hero echo trapper at all (or at least very poorly).

Use Sabs 3 Necros, and you run Ursan Blessing or a standard WoH bar you can find all on these forums.

I'm a bit unclear on what you're seeking -- are you a player monk looking for hero builds to do forgewight, or a player from another class looking for a monk hero build for forgewight?
In the former case, don't bother. It's super easy for monks to find PUGs and the cookie-cutter monk bars for the PUGs are pretty easy.
In the latter case, monks are not the best use of hero slots unless you're doing a 2 player/6 hero team.

I'm the monk looking for h/h team builds... with the massive amount of damage in Forgewight dungeon you don't think 3 monks in the party is reasonable?

Hmm..
Try sab's triple necro team: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...63&postcount=2
As for henchies, well.. i guess any combination works, if you find that you have trouble keeping the red bars up, bring a third monk.
Personally, i've never H/H'd Slaver's Exile before, but due to its nature, i suggest finding a PUG. When I did it, it was with a guildie of mine running a paragon with "Save Yourselves!" and "There's Nothing to Fear!" which made healing tons easier. And mitigated lots of the damage. With a MM, some SF eles heroes, you can easily mow through it.
